We had a marvelous Valentine's Day. I've always said, "I'd like Valentine's Day to be creative but not expensive." We both lived up to that this year. I planned a surprise getaway for Saturday night. Jeremy had no clue, but I had pre-arranged his absence from drumming at church and had a number of people involved in the surprise. Our friends, Justin and Laura, took the girls overnight, and we went down to Salmon Beach on the Sound. I wish I had taken pictures down there. Jeremy's aunt and uncle own a cabin there, so we planned a meal for the guys (Harrisons, Popps and us Durrs)- blueberry and goat cheese salmon, fingerling potatoes, asparagus, chocolate lava cake and wine. We spent the evening eating, playing games and watching the Olympics. Then, we spent the night in their little guest house. In the morning, we picked up the girls and went back down to the beach to have a wonderful breakfast and spent some more time. Little did I know, Jer had a surprise lined up for Sunday. The highlight, for me were the roses above. He had a rose of each color and the significance of that color. Each note talked about how that trait was found in our relationship. So sweet! He arranged our wonderful babysitter, Jeralee, to take the girls for the evening. He picked up our favorite Indian food, and we watched a movie. A wonderful night....A wonderful husband...A wonderful marriage. What a blessing from God!
